Ah! While Dual Blade is under development, there is already a sneak peek of the new upcoming job in MapleStory: Dual Blade.
A lot articles were published today about the presentation of Dual Blade by Nexon.

Last week I visited a few MapleStory forums about this new job.  Not too long ago, I posted an entry about the job ID of Dual Blade.
People were assuming that Nexon/Wizet made a mistake and that the job ID was a placeholder. I really doubt they would make a mistake like that.

At this point, I don’t know if its a Hero or Adventurer. The data proves by its job ID that its an Adventurer and the character selection screen says its an Adventurer.

It could be a Hero because of the separate Cash Shop storage and more job advancements. Not to mention that two Heroes in a row were released. (Aran & Evan)

They’re releasing evidence that disproves each theory.

P.S: I’m sure you have seen the skill animations that roamed around the Internet. Some people believed they were real and the other said it was fake. Again, the screenshots from Nexon shows that they’re not fake.

I’ll just start with the interesting information.

In the Character Selection Screen, the Hangeul text says it’s an Adventurer. It has a green background like Adventurers, while the Heroes have a dark golden background.

Other people believe it’s a Hero character. We’ll just have to wait and see~

A few questions were asked and of course those behind MapleStory answered. Here are two questions that I found surprising:

Q: How many characters can we expect?
A: Two characters are already prepared. One character is a Hero and the other character is related to the Black Magician.
Currently they haven’t decided a launch date for these two new jobs.

Q: Will the other jobs be modified?
A:  It’s planned. Magician, Archer, Pirates etc.
So I guess the jobs will be getting another balance update.

What’s up with the development of Dual Blade?

I said Dual Blade had six job advancements. But in fact it has six stages.

This illustration shows that Dual Blade has six stages but the highest job advancement is 4th Job.

1st Job Advancement (Lv. 10) → Rogue
2nd Job Advancement (Lv. 20) → Semi Dualer
2nd Job Advancement + (Lv. 30) → Dualer
3rd Job Advancement (Lv. 55) → Dual Master
3rd Job Advancement + (Lv. 70) → Slasher
4th Job Advancement (Lv. 120) →  Dual Blader

Something totally new for an Adventurer.

What can you expect from Dual Blade?

• Fast
• Damage Dealer
• Exciting
• Flashy skills
• Low defense, but compensated with high attack power
• Bonus attacking action like Aran

What’s the storyline of Dual Blade?

I don’t really know, but the background story starts with the character ‘Dark Lord’. The name of the current Dark Lord is Jin. Jin is the student of the previous Dark Lord. The daughter of Dark Lord, Sulhee, has a conflict with her father. Dual Blade will join them in the storyline.

That’s why you see Dark Lord, Dual Blade and Sulhee as the main characters on the poster.

When will Dual Blade be available?

Dual Blade job will be released on the 18th of February in the test server and the 25th of February in the official server.
Talk about fast progress, huh?

In Kerning City. The town of Thieves.

In Cash Shop a few scroll items appeared. They are for the new job Dual Blade.

These items act like mastery books.
Two scrolls for 2nd, 3rd and 4th job.
They have a 100% chance of working.
