Have you heard the rumors? There are incredible things happening in
Maple World. Some are happy and exciting--like opening of the new
Kerning Square Mall in Kerning City. Are you ready to shop in style and
help a young entertainer’s dream come true all while enjoying new
dungeons and PQs? Then there are darker tales unfolding. There are
stories of a mad traveler in the wilds near Magatia bearing tidings of a
terrible future…
Check out the details below:
Maple Idol at the Kerning Square Mall!
Dreams really can come true in MapleStory. Take Blake, a humble public
service worker at the new Kerning Square Mall in Kerning City. He may
not be much now, but he has the talent to become a superstar!
Unfortunately there are evil Rock Spirits who are trying to steal
Blake’s debut song and keep him from his destiny.
Blake needs heroes to
help prepare the way, battle these evil spirits in a brand new dungeon
and make sure the stage is secure for Blake’s big debut. Do you have
what it takes to create the next big MapleStory superstar? Fight for the Future in Neo City!
Andy is a madman who has recently been spotted in the wilds near
Magatia. They say he tells a horrible story of machine feet trampling
over the human race in the future and claims to be looking for brave
adventurers to fight for the future of Maple World. Can we afford to
believe this madman? Can we afford not to?
If you’d like to check out the truth of Andy’s story, Broker Han in
Magatia has the scoop on a time traveler who has come back from the
future to recruit Maple World’s mightiest heroes. It seems that in Neo
City in the year 2503, the human race barely survives by scurrying under
the metal feet of killer robots. That dark future doesn’t have to pass
though. You can fight for the future in a huge new dungeon and make it a
better one for all humanity!
Did you know that according to the lunar calendar this is the year of
the tiger? In the Chinese Zodiac, the Tiger is the sign of courage? And
really, who’s more courageous than the intrepid explorers of Maple
World? What better travelling companion then for a brave Mapler than
this adorable new Baby Tiger!
You can adopt a Baby Tiger today for just 5,800 NX. Better yet, for only
16,900 NX you can get the Baby Tiger Package! That gets you a Baby
Tiger, Baby Tiger Wings and 11 Golden Drumsticks. That’s a 10% savings
off the individual retail price!
This great deal is available for one week only--from February 19 to 24,
so hurry to save now!
It’s time again for a version up and this time it’s all about
convenience! Check out the changes that should help you travel quicker,
manage better and clean up your gameplay.
Improved Quick Slot
The Quick Slot is the box found on the bottom right corner of your
screen. It contains six convenient hotkeys that allow you to use a
skill, item, or function just by hitting the key. We’ve made this
function even more powerful by now allowing you to determine which keys
should be in the Quick Slot.
This will not only cut down on the number of times you have to open your
keyboard settings to reset your hotkeys for different activities, but
should be a blessing for lefties and those who use non-traditional
keyboard settings!

Dimensional Mirror
MapleStory is full of fun places to explore, but sometimes getting there
was less fun than being there. Now getting there is easier with the new
Dimensional Mirror!
The Dimensional Mirrors will allow you to quickly travel to: Ariant
Battle Arena, Mu Lung Dojo, Monster Carnival 1, Monster Carnival 2,
Nett’s Pyramid, and Abandoned Subway.
Say goodbye to Cesar and the Mu Lung Dojo Bulletin Board! Now you just
need to click on Dimensional Mirror located in every major town.
Keep in mind that the Dimensional Mirror isn’t a shortcut to high-level
areas. If you don’t meet the level requirement, it won’t allow you to
travel there. Improved Inventory UI
If you’ve been playing MapleStory for awhile, you know that you can
collect a lot of stuff. It’s little wonder then that your newest
acquisitions can sometimes get lost in your inventory. With our new and
improved inventory graphics, though, you’ll never lose track of your new
items again. When you acquire a new item, the inventory tab it’s been
put in will blink and the new item will have a flashing border around
it.
Episode One: Now Open to Everyone!
Explorer players had a great reaction to the release of Episode One. It
made the first job advancement even more fun for Explorers. In fact, the
reaction was so strong, we’ve decided to open the fun up to everybody.
Now every class can participate in the events of Episode One on the
occasion of their first job advancement.
Some changes you’ll notice if you’re an Explorer who’s tried Episode
One:
- The level limit for the quests that the Job Advancement Officers
give to start Episode One is now 40 and not 30.
- New Astaroth’s Polearm available.
- Bug fix! The Warrior quest "Drought in Perion-Inspecting the Water
Pipe,” now has a Fire Hydrant regenerating in the Construction Site
north of Kerning City.
- Bug fix! Pirates, if you no longer need the Dirty Treasure Map item
in order to play Episode One, find the NPC Jack at Top Floor – Hallway.
He will throw away the item for you.
We announced on January 28 that MapleStory will be changing the method
for starting the game (click here for more info). To prepare for this
change, MapleStory will have an update this week that will make a change
to the login procedure for the game.
When you log into MapleStory for the first time after 2/10/2010, you
will be prompted to create a PIC (Personal Identification Code) on the
Character Select screen. After you have a PIC you will no longer need to
enter your old PIN at login.
A few notes on PICs:
1. PICs can be 6 to 16 characters long.
2. PICs can use letters and numbers and are case sensitive.
3. PICs are entered on the Character Select screen.

MapleStory will soon be moving to a new method for starting the game
client. Rather than launching the game from your desktop, the game will
be launched directly from the official MapleStory website. Once the game
is patched, the icon on your desktop will now direct you to the
official MapleStory website. At the website, simply log in with your
Nexon ID, click on the large "Start Game” button and the game will
launch. It’s that easy!
Frequently Asked Questions Q: My desktop MapleStory icon now takes me directly to the MapleStory
website. How do I start MapleStory now?
A: Simple. Once you’ve arrived at the official MapleStory website, you
will see a large button that says "Start Game.” Clicking on that and
using your ID and password to log in will launch the game.
Q: What does start MapleStory from the website mean?
A: MapleStory is introducing a new method of starting the game in which
players will be directed to the official MapleStory website (
http://maplestory.nexon.net)
in order to start the game client rather than starting the game
directly from the desktop.
Q: Why are you switching to launching MapleStory from the website?
A: Moving to launching from the website allows us to do several things
for our players:
- It allows your game and web experience to be combined into a
single log in. You will now be logged in to all of Nexon’s websites
whenever you use Start MapleStory from Website. This should make it
easier for players to find game information, get technical support and
switch between games.
- It helps us to better communicate with our players. By placing
messages of importance on the website (in-game events, maintenance
notices, technical issues, update notifications and the like), we can be
sure of reaching you as you log in to the game.
- The website is already available when exiting the game. This
ensures that any emergency message affecting gameplay will be visible.
- It allows us to display Web-only and community event
notifications that help us enhance your MapleStory experience.
Q: Will this affect the game or how I play the game?
A: No. The only thing that is changing is how you start the game. This
does not change the game or gameplay in any way.
