I was going to buy a smega but then I realised that A) idk anyone that sells smega's anymore and then I sadly realised that cool I forgot which char I put my mesos on. oops. So I'm making this instead (I hope I have not angered the god of forums : motobff (since I didn't really ask for permission ;x (plz no whip)

Once upon a time a scared little priest boy xfered to bello from scania and happened upon a certain fm that happened to have a certain level 200 bishop. After having an awesome convo this level 200 bishop (omg so high lvel!!!11!!) bl'ed the scared little priest thus becoming my first friend in bellocan. Eventually the level 200 bishop quit and decided she thought that actually, shadowers are one bad ass motherfucker, and made DoodIed. By this point the scared little priest had had his priest scammed and deleted by a certain asshole from scania who came to bellocan the same week as him, and then ran off to windia. The level 200 bishop (now the awesome bandit) in an act of awesomeness helped leech the now useless cleric while she was leeching her awesome dit. By now they were pretty awesome friends and did awesome stuff (including getting married and having an awesome pink chat of awesomeness) Over the next few months they had some pretty awesome lulz together (like trying to get the now priest/bishops pussy to play with the awesome dit/shad's dog over webcam and having the grace to watch her music video before anyone else) Skip forward many many months and the awesome shad is about to hit 200 and the nooby now bishop (who the shad helped level to 120 (also with the help of a certain awesome latvian himes partner (and a certain awesome brazillian chick who will probably never see this)) (i should also point out that the nooby bishop never really trained that hard without the awesome shad as his partner)) has been quit for many months. and although he tried to be there to watch the girl who helped him inadvertently out of a 3 year depression and probably would have quit a lot sooner and would have never joined Forsaken's achievement that she has worked hard on for many months he couldn't be there. So congrats Tess smile

ps: you suck
pps : not really

Site and forum may be down/non working sporadically over the next few days as i "clean" the site. i updated user groups (sorry for the delay to people who have been waiting to be moved) and merged a few forum sections.

once again looking for active guild members on the site who would be interested in posting maplestory news and keeping the section current. i may be merging the new section into the forum itself, but only if one or two people are interested in moderating maplestory news.

i'm also looking for one person to take tristans place in handling site mail. this includes applications, support tickets etc. at the present time this handled by me and tess but i would prefer having another person take responsibility in case were both inactive.

finally, a reminder: if anyone has any graphics they would like to submit for use on the site... post on forums pls!

Most of the time whenAngry Pepe looks at reports about hackers, hacking, and people who steal other peoples information, his reaction is the same as yours outrage. We go to enormous lengths to protect the games from hackers and thieves and I take it as a personal offense when someone violates that. There are times though, when I look at a hacking incident report and I just have to shake my head. The entry on such a report is always the same Account Shared? Yes. In terms of protecting your account and your information, the most powerful thing you can do is also the simplest.

Do not share your account!

We talked about this is a previous Angry Pepe post, but I honestly dont know how to put it any simpler than that. Dont share your account with anybody. That means nobody. Not your guild mate, not your best buddy, not your school chum, not your brother or sister, nobody. Dont share your account. Just dont.

My friend wouldnt steal from me.

The resistance to this simple piece of advice baffles me. Yet whenever we offer it, we get responses from people that range from the idea that were accusing friends and family members of being criminals to the idea that this is part of some evil plan to squeeze more money from our customers. None of these reactions passes even the simplest test of logic.

Heres the thing. In the vast majority of cases where players share their account, players are absolutely right that the person theyre sharing with wouldnt deliberately steal from them. The operative woird in that sentence is "deliberately." The thing is, when you entrust your account to someone, youre responsible for everything that happens to it. If someone using your account misunderstands the nature of the Cash Shop and goes in and drains your account of NX by buying a dozen pets because he doesnt understand how they work, Im afraid you havent been hacked. You are however, responsible for the purchase of those pets.

If the person you were showing your cool gear to gives your password information to a hacker pretending to be a Nexon employee, youre going to lose your stuff despite the fact that your friend certainly didnt set out to hurt you. As for the plot to make money?

Nexon Accounts are FREE

But what if you want to show someone your cool character with all your great gear or you want them to try out the game in the hopes theyll become a regular player? Have them make a free account and follow you around for a while. Theyll not only get in the game on the ground floor, you can give them a leg up by helping them earn XP and getting them equipment. Theres no quicker way to get a friend into the game than by helping them establish themselves. If your friend has a problem downloading the game, we have a DVD availablewith the client on it that can be yours for just the cost of shipping and handling.

One of the best and by best I mean most ridiculous -- reasons anyone ever gave me for sharing their account was the guild I joined had as a condition of joining that everyone share their account information so we would always have a variety of classes available for PQs. My quick answer to that was get a new guild. No guild should ever make part of its joining conditions that you give up sensitive information. Thats like your baseball team asking for your locker combination so they can use your uniform if you happen to be absent from the game.

Account Sharing Make Pepe Angry!

Put simply, there is no good reason to ever share your account information with anyone. I wish I could tell you the number of tragic emails we receive that begin I got hacked! Then our investigation proves that whatever happened, happened because somebody shared their account. But I never logged in at that computer! we hear, only to discover that that computer belongs to a friend or a guild mate. This warning doesnt come from nowhere. We see the dire results in forums and Customer Support tickets every day and unfortunately, it happens a lot. Keeping your account information private is simply your best shot at keeping your account secure.

Last year the Panda wrote a long, involved post that gave detailed information on phishing. It's still worth reading and you should check it out. The thing is, hackers and phishers don't stand still. They're constantly looking for new ways to steal your information. MapleStory and Nexon are no different in that regard. Our company and our players are plagued by this as much as anyone. That's the reason that we're throwing our second annual Security Awareness Month. We wanted to give you*some tips on avoiding phishing scams -- and I want to focus specifically on some of the most common ways MapleStory users get scammed.*

1. Stop and think. Then stop and think again!*

One of the best ways a phisher can get your information is to get you to panic. If they can get you to act before you think about what you're doing, they have a better chance of getting you to do something that might compromise your information. Nexon will never do anything to your account, your characters, your items, or your information without your consent. If you see an email that threatens to delete inactive characters or that warns you to update your password within 24 hours, be very suspicious. There's always time to investigate a strange email or Website. You will never lose anything by waiting.

2. Be smart on Facebook.

Facebook is a wonderful way to connect with friends, have fun, and find other Maplers. The official MapleStory Facebook page is constantly updated with information on sales, in-game events, previews of upcoming content, contests, and much more. Be careful though. Facebook has also become a breeding ground for phishers. They mostly come in two forms:*

***** -- Linked comments: Nexon does not*comment on its own Facebook posts. If you see a link offering "Free NX" or some kind of special Maple event, it's a scam. Do not click on it. We do our best to eliminate these phony comments, but they do slip through.
***** -- Phony Facebook page: The URL for the official MapleStory Facebook is http://www.facebook.com/maplestory. Be careful of Facebook pages that may look like the official page. They may even replicate our posts and use*links to send you to a phishing site.

3. Be careful with strange emails

One of the primary way phishers scam you is through phony emails. Here are a few things to look for when confronted by a strange email.*

*****--* Strange sender:*An email from Nexon will always come from info@blockparty.com. If it comes from another email sender, be suspicious.*
*****--* Strange or unfamiliar links: Be careful of clicking links in an e-mail message. While the links text may look completely legitimate, the links source code points to a completely different site. Always remember that you dont have to click on a link. You can cut and paste it into your Web browser or type it in yourself.*
******--* Strange greetings: Phishing emails often have unusual greetings designed to slip past email filters.
******--* Typos: Phishers will often deliberately introduce typos into an e-mail message in order to bypass email filters.*
******--* Incorrect Grammar: This is another method used to slip past email filters.*
******-- *Misspelled company name. Another method that phishers use to get past email filters. Common variations include using a 0 for the o on Nexon and unusual spacing.: e.g. Nex0n, NexonAmerica and Nex on.

4. Don't ever give out your information to anybody -- ever!

Nexon will never ask you for your personal information such as a password or any real information such as your name or address or Social Security number. If you are asked for your personal information by someone claiming to be a Nexon representative, they're lying. This includes requests via email, instant message, via Facebook communication, or by any other method. Be wary of pop-up windows also. Nexon does not use pop-up windows to ask for information. If you see one, a phisher has directed you to the real Nexon site but is using a program to generate a fake window to get your information.

5. Protect your computer

There's a lot of good spyware, anti-virus, anti-malware, and firewall software out there. Much of it is cheap, or free! Use it and keep it updated. There are also many good add-on security programs for your Web browsers that will block malicious programs or prevent unauthorized scripts from running.

6. Change your password regularly and use different passwords

Using*the same password for all*of*your accounts is actually a faily common mistake people make. Doing so though,*means that if a hacker or phisher get one password, they'll get access to everything you have! Don't use*the same password for your MapleStory account that you use for your bank account, your school account, or anything else you do online.

7. Watch out for phony Websites

Phishers often use the Nexon logo or official art from one of our games to make their emails and Websites look real.* Here are some things to look for that will tell you a Website is suspicious.
*

Here are some other ways to detect youve been directed to a fake site.*

***** * How did you get here? Did you follow an email or chat link to get to the site? If you did, use caution.*
***** * Check the URL: All official Nexon sites use the URL pattern "http://[gamename].nexon.net." If a site doesnt end with Nexon.net, its not an official Website.*
***** * Look for blind links and broken or dead end pages: Look around for ways to get back to the home page or to find other information. If there are no other links on the page and no way to get to any other locations on the site, be suspicious.*
***
8. Don't share accounts!

This can't be stressed often enough. Do not share your accounts! It doesn't matter how much you trust someone, once your information is out of your control, you do not know what will happen to it. While*the friend
